Scarlett Johansson Is Happy for New Engagement Ring
Posted by Iflove Entertainment TV on May 7, 2008 at 3:00 amScarlett Johansson is engaged. The Newly engaged celebrity woman showed off her round, white diamond ring from Ryan Reynolds at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City on Monday.
Wearing an ivory D&G dress, the actress, 23, was escorted by designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. (Reynolds, 31, was in Boston filming the aptly titled comedy The Proposal.)

On her way to the bash, she hugged Aussie actress Naomi Watts, who couldn’t help but notice Johansson’s glow.
“You look gorgeous!” Watts told her.
Though Johansson skipped press, her colleagues couldn’t stop gushing.
Her Lost In Translation director, Sofia Coppola, wished the star “congratulations.
“That’s great news!” she told Usmagazine.com.
“I’m really excited for her!” actress Amanda Peet told Us. “They’re both genius actors, and she’s friend with my friend. Yay!”
Added designer Marc Jacobs (who has worked with the actress), “I’m really happy for her. If she’s in love, that’s great. I just hope that she’s happy and wish her all the best.”
Not everyone was psyched the actress was getting hitched.
“Damn, I’m very disappointed!” Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick joked to Us. “I missed my chance. That boat has sailed.”

The ring is beautiful! Congratulations.
Maybe they don’t want a huge ring to show they’re in love. So what if it’s not flashy and huge. If you really look at it you’d see that the diamond itself is huge. Oh and the Mariah Carey ring, it’s totally a publicity stunt so of course the ring is huge, they want everyone to see it. These two seem like they are really in love so good for them for keeping it simple. A ring does not say I love you. The fact that these two want to make a greater commitment to one another is wonderful. I hope they are very happy and that they have a great wedding day.
Her ring is lovely — it “glows” while on her. I wonder if any sap will pick up that one line that Naomi couldn’t help but notice Scarlett’s glow and will start saying that SHE’S pregnant?
