Iflove reports on the President’s sentiments following the marriage of his daughter Jenna to Henry Hager on Saturday in Crawford, Texas:
“We’re mighty blessed,” Bush said at an airport in Waco where he boarded Air Force One to return to Washington.
Bush called the wedding “spectacular,” saying that his daughter and new son-in-law exchanged vows just as the sun set at the Texas ranch.
“This Mother’s Day weekend was awfully special for Laura and me,” said the president, his wife standing at his side.
Bush referred to the new bride as “our little girl Jenna” and declared his new son-in-law to be “a really good guy”
A White House official confirmed by e-mail at 9:28 p.m. EDT Saturday that the two had been officially hitched.

In all seriousness best wishes to the Hagers. The crazy thing about Bush is that he probably is a guy but a whack job as a leader and has the poorest judgement of any leader in US history. Hopefully Jenna has got Hager on a short leash to keep him out of Republican politics. I like their choice of the pastor, an Obama supporter. ‘

However, weather in Crawford, TX was insufferable… 92F at time of ceremony + high humidity.

I also, cannot understand the “Paris Hilton” tactic they are pulling on us with this crap. Keep shoving her down our throats until we just can’t take it anymore, and we finally submit. Submit, knowing they are famous for, ahhh…NOTHING! GD! IS THERE ANYONE THAT CARES LESS THAN I DO ABOUT HER FRIGGIN’ WEDDING! JUST GO AWAY ALREADY!
Oh, ahh sorry for the rant. I just get so angry because there are so many more important issues that should be topping the news media.

And more than anything I am impressed that the Bush family didn’t turn this into a White House media circus/event. At least one thing they have done that was done right.
God, I wish I could’ve been a wedding crasher at this one. I would pretend to be a Republican for one day just so I could make one of those 14 brides maids fall in love with me and turn her into my sugar momma. But seriously, it looked like a swell event and I’m mighty impressed with the civility of most of the posters here. HuffPo can be a rather ruthless place some time.
Hope they have a lasting life time together and that their views and understanding about the states & world will differ from what is happening in the current administration.
She trimmed down a lot and really looked nice. I don’t think she is as pretty as her sister she looks more like her Dad. But the dress was beautiful and she looked beautiful. I am glad nothing happened to spoil this day for her.
Looks like Jenna went to a lot of effort to almost look slim enough for her wedding gown.
Henry will learn what every young groom soon realizes: you wife’s butt will never again be as trim as on your wedding day.
I must say, in all fairness, I am shockingly impressed with the understated atmosphere of this event.

In Waco, where it was about 95 degrees during the day? If you want to do that to Cheney, it’s OK, but all the daughters ever did wrong was get drunk all the time, which I would do, too, if Dubya was my dad.
Reverend Caldwell is a serious person and a serious family friend. And in the long, slow, too slow process of becoming one nation, that picture is a brick in the foundation.
There are men and women still voting in this country who would not have voted for George Bush if they had seen that photograph.
Jenna Bush either doesn’t know that, or doesn’t care, or cares and grins when she remembers it. Whichever one it is, it’s a good thing.

It’s one tiny flower in the whole bouquet of her wedding, but it’s a beauty anyway.
From what I’ve seen of Jenna she seems like a nice girl, especially since she has matured. It is amazing to me she was raised by such a spoiled horrible person as her dad. Laura must be just as bad, sort of like a Stepford wife but deep down I really don’t think she believes as Bush does on a lot of issues.
Just because you can’t stand his politics doesn’t mean you can make judgments like “…spoiled horrible person” or “Laura must be just as bad”. If you talk to people who work in this White House (not politicians, but the worker bees) they all say the first lady and the President are the nicest people who always shown great appreciation to the workers who keep the place running and the agents who keep them safe. A far cry from those who worked under the previous administration. Although people in the White House thought Bill Clinton was generally a friendly person, they almost universally hated the attitude Hillary and Al Gore took towards their staff. You need to separate the “Presidency” and the President’s policies from the person.
