Closing Ceremony ends Beijing Olympic games, with Spanish tenor, British soccer star and kung-fu fighters
The closing ceremony of the Beijing Summer Olympics will feature a Spanish tenor, a British soccer star and a throng of kung-fu fighters. Three less-than-stellar acts for an incredibly boring two weeks of competition.
The major US stories of the games have been Michael Phelps’ dominance, the women gymnasts and their individual gold medals after getting cheated by Chinese embryos in leotards, the Redeem Team, and women’s softball losing to Japan. All were predictable and boring.
Phelps not winning would have been a more interesting story. The Chinese cheat? You are kidding? Not the same country that made my replica Rolex? The Redeem Team had to win or return home to hang their million-dollar heads in shame. And as far as the women’s softball team, I have a strong feeling they purposely lost to save the sport. Another dominating US win would have meant the end of women’s softball at the games. A Japanese win could mean more softball in the Summer Games and the continued growth of a popular female sport in America.
I am looking forward to tonight’s closing ceremony though. Especially the end. It will mean I won’t have to hear about the Olympics for another two years.
Rogge says Olympics opened up China Yeah, I am SO over the Olympics…they eff up all my good shows!
